Can I get e-mail with my web site?

Yes! Sliced can supply pop e-mail for use with Outlook® and other pop mail programs. E-mail forwarding and even ONLINE mail so that you can access your email from anywhere.

Can I see how many visitors I've had to my web site?

Yes, Sliced supply comprehensive graphical stats from AWSTATS, awstats.sourceforge.net when your website is hosted with us. This shows you when people visited and from where, what browsers they use and much much more. We can also incorporate more advanced statistic applications such as Google analytics. Will search engines pick my website up?

Yes, we register all new sites with the top search engines like Google and Yahoo, and there are Meta Tag editors built into our web content management system to allow you to edit your tags. We can also help with website marketing and search engine optimisation and search engine marketing. Please contact Sliced for details.

Can I add pages myself with your web content management system?

Yes, as long as you have not reached your page limit, you can add, edit and delete pages at to your heart's content!

Can I add various files on my web site?

Yes, you can add Microsoft Word® documents, Adobe® PDFs, Excel® files and more. There is a size restriction of approximately 4mb, but this is ample for most documents, and our CMS system allows for FTP upload so you can add even larger and multiple files at once.

Does my web site have to be hosted by Sliced?

Originally we could not find any hosts who installed the open source technologies that we used, however we have identified three or four other hosting companies who run similar software as required. Currently the server requirements are as follows: PHP Version 4.3, MySQL Version 4, GD Support enabled (GD Version - bundled 2.0.22 compatible), Safe mode switched off, Zend Optimizer 2.5.7 OR Source Guardian.

Can I register my domain name through Sliced?

Yes, we can register domains such as .com, .uk, .org, .eu and so on at competitive market rates. Please contact Sliced for more details.

Can I transfer my existing domain name to Sliced?

Yes. Please ask us and we can arrange IPS or DNS transfer to us.

Is there a manual for your CMS?

Yes. We are updating our web site help pages available through your CMS admin areas. This is being phased in during 2006.

Can I change my web site design template?

Yes, you can either supply us with a design which we will implement, or we can design a new one for you.

Can I have more than 1 template?

Yes, you can have as many as time and budgets allow.

Will Sliced develop their web content management system in the future?

Yes. Our earliest customers have been using our CMS since 2003 and have received free upgrades for 2 years. We are committed to improving our web content management system in the future, as we consider it to be an excellent, cost effective tool for website updates. It is currently being used by around 25 websites around the UK.

Does your web content management system work with Mac and PC?

Yes. Our CMS is purely browser driven. We recommend most recent browsers including Explorer version 6, Safari version 1.5, Firefox version 1.5 and Netscape version 8. Please note that our online editor does not work with all browsers, and not all browsers are available for both platforms. Please contact Sliced for more details.

Which browsers does your CMS work with?

Netscape V5 upwards. Explorer V5.5 upwards (PC). Safari V1 upwards. Firefox version 1.5 upwards. We aim to support as many browsers as possible, but we urge customers to keep up to date with browsers as they are free on the whole!

Do I need to install any software?

Only if you choose to. The only software you may wish to install is image resizing software and FTP software. However if you use any image applications such as Adobe Photoshop you will not need to do this. FTP software is available free and allows for multiple file uploads to your CMS system, but this is optional.

Can other people help me with updating my website?

Yes. You can share an administrator password, add new administrators, or you can set multi-level page editing, to allow only certain pages to be edited by your elected administrators. Please note that multi-level administration depends on the version of CMS you are using.

Can I have an e-commerce web site design?

Yes. Sliced have developed a CMS shopping cart and connections to secure credit card ordering through 3rd party payment providers. Please contact Sliced for more details about ecommerce web site design.

When can I update my content?

You can access your administration areas 24/7 through a compatible browser.

Is there any training provided with Sliced CMS?

Training may be included in the original quotation, otherwise this can be arranged at our standard hourly rate. We do provide unlimited e-mail support as well as online design and HTML tips.

Do Sliced provide advice on seo?

Yes! Sliced will help you to get started with search engine marketing requirements and how your website will acheive better ranking.

Does Sliced CMS provide search engine marketing tools?

Sliced web content management system has built in meta editors, built in alt tag editors, image tag, e-mail subject line and title tags. You can go wild with SEO if you choose!

Will Sliced provide planning and project management?

Dependent on available budgets, Sliced always try and plan and project manage any new web site design. Avoiding pitfalls and shortcomings due to lack of planning can mean that neither our customers nor we get exactly what was expected!
